WHAT I DO WHEN I’M SICK

It’s Winter here and it is freezing down in Tasmania so of course, I’m sick. I have a 4 year old who goes to kinder and daycare so he is always bringing home something that I end up catching. I’ve not felt well enough over the last week or so to work on blog posts, but I didn’t want to miss another one so I thought I’d share what I’ve been doing while I’ve been sick.

READING

I had my eyes tested for the first time ever a couple of months ago because I was getting a lot of eye pain and headaches and turns out I needed glasses. Having glasses has been so great because I can finally read books again! It was so hard to read before I got my glasses. My eyes would feel like they were burning when I used to read. I’m currently reading Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (which is my least favourite to be honest, but I just got the 20th Anniversary Slytherin edition so I had to read it). If you have any book suggestions, please let me know!

SKINCARE

When I’m sick my skin gets really flaky so doing skincare is essential. My mum got me this facial sauna recently and it is incredible! Before bed, I add some Vicks Vaporub with water in it and breath it in. It really helps me breath better which makes it easier to get to sleep. I would highly recommend one of these. I also like to do a face mask and a scrub every now and then, just to keep me feeling fresh.

EMBROIDERY

This is something I’ve wanted to try for a very long time. I used to cross stitch a lot but gave it up a few years ago. I saw a couple of embroidery accounts being recommended to me on Instagram and figured now would be the perfect time to try and learn since I still had all of my cross stitch stuff. This is the second piece I created. The first one was kind of a mess because I didn’t quite get the hang of how to do words (something I will be working on soon). I saw a design similar to this on Pinterest and fell in love with it so I did my own version. Of course it’s Harry Potter themed, and I really like how it came out. I’m excited to make more things!

So that’s what I’ve been up to for the last week or so. Let me know your favourite thing to do when you’re sick and stuck in bed!
Hopefully I’m better soon and can get back into regular posts. I have a recipe I want to work on, but I have to wait until I’m better so hopefully you’ll be seeing that soon!
