If any of you know me at all you will know that I’m a HUGE Rihanna fan. I’ve loved her for years so naturally when she released Fenty Beauty I bought from the brand the second I could. I didn’t buy anything from her Galaxy or Summer Collections (for a couple of reasons), but as soon as I saw photos of her second palette, the Moroccan Spice Palette, I was in love with it.

I’m going to start with the price. This palette was expensive. The most I’ve ever spent on one single palette. It’s $82 AUD. I was okay with it at first because I love the shades (and there are 16 of them which is really nice) and they aren’t all the same shade of orange/red like a lot of palettes out now. It’s a versatile palette and can be used for every day life or full glam, dramatic looks. I had watched some reviews of people of all skin colours using it so I could see how they perform and I was pretty impressed.
Here’s what shocked me when I got this in the mail. It is tiny! I had to go back and look at some of the videos I watched because it looked so much bigger in all of the videos! I was so mad when I took it out the box and it was barely bigger than my hand (and I have very small hands).

Putting the size and price of it aside, it is a good palette. I’ve used almost all of the shades so far and I did two looks with it. The first a pink, wearable look and the second a fun, blue look.

The shadows themselves are really nice! The mattes are very soft and easy to blend and of course the shimmers are beautiful. I did have one problem with the blue shimmer shade, Evil Genie. As I was applying it some fell in my eye and it felt like my eye was burning. I always get shadows in my eyes but it has never felt as bad as this one did so be careful with that shade.
Also, this isn’t really a big deal, but I just hate the plastic that the palette case is made of. It gets dirty and covered in fingerprints so quickly.

I also bought the 210 Tapered Blending Brush and I 100% regret it. This was also expensive and the most I’ve ever paid for a single brush. It was $36 AUD. That’s such an insane price and I still don’t know why I decided to buy it. Yes, it’s a nice brush but so are all the others I own.

I just don’t know how I should feel about these products. I like the way they perform but I don’t think they should be charging what they are for them. I’d be happy to pay maybe $60 for a palette like this. $60 is still a lot, but $82 is pure insanity.
Sephora in Australia doesn’t take returns unless what you get is damaged and since my palette was just too expensive, I can’t return it. I honestly don’t know if I will buy another Fenty Beauty palette. I think I’ll just stick to the Killawatts for now.

I hope this post has been somewhat helpful to someone out there. I hope you don’t think that I was being too negative, I’m just mad that makeup is SO expensive when it really doesn’t need to be.

The colours look gorgeous on you, but I have to agree with you that it’s too expensive and small. I saw the palette online and I just thought that it looked rushed to me, the first few products that Rihanna released were so beautifully packaged.
