I have a a lot of lipsticks, but my favourites are the Lime Crime Velvetines. I have an insane amount of them so I thought I’d share my top 5 shades with you! They have a huge range of colours (50+) and that can be overwhelming when trying to choose colours. But on the plus side, they have a colour for absolutely every situation! It was really hard for me to choose only 5 out of my whole collection, but I got there. The Velvetine formula is one of my all time favourites. It’s very comfortable and has a touch proof, velvet finish which is exactly what I look for in a lipstick.
I had wanted this colour for so long, but for some reason I thought it wouldn’t work with my skin tone. I used to be scared of colours being too light for me, but now I know how to make every colour work (mostly). Riot is a red-brown, and is now one of my go-to shades. It’s a super natural colour too, so if you want to try out Velvetines, this could be a good one to start with because it works with a lot of skin tones.
I’ve spoken a lot about Saint on my blog and was one of my go-to shades last year. I’ve gone through a full tube and am on my way to finishing this one! Saint is similar to Riot but is darker. The Lime Crime website describes it as a cranberry red. If you love red lipstick, but think it can be a bit much sometimes, this might be the red for you!
I am a huge lover of blue lipsticks and I think everyone should have at least one in their collection. While writing this I’ve just realised that Thistle is no longer available on the Lime Crime website and I had no idea that it had been discontinued, so I apologise, but they still have the shade Teacup, which is a similar blue! Thistle is a grey-blue and Teacup is a periwinkle blue so if you want to try this kind of blue, that could be an alternative. You may be able to find it on some of the offical reseller’s websites. They usually have more older stock still for sale.
If you’ve been reading my blog from the beginning, you will know that my all time favourite lipstick EVER is Salem. It was one of the first lipsticks I ever bought and have now gone through 3 or 4 tubes and need a replacement! It is a true brown and I would recommend this colour to everyone. Also, please ignore the old font on the tube. I bought it a really long time ago when Lime Crime stopped shipping to Australia and I didn’t know when they’d start again so I stocked up!
This is one I bought recently. I couldn’t decide between this one and another shade so I asked my mum, and she said to get Cindy so I did and I just absolutely love it! It’s a terracotta brown and looks great on my skin tone. It also goes with basically every eye look so it’s a great colour to have. If you have a similar skin tone to me (Shade 330 in the Fenty Foundation for reference), this would be a great one for you.
I really love pink and brown tones, so I apologise that some of these are really similar. My Velvetine Collection is pretty big, so if you’d be interested, I can do a Velvetine collection post!
If you have a favourite shade, let me know what it is in the comments!
