I am so excited to write this review because Glow Cosmetics (which is my favourite makeup store) contacted me about trying out their new Mineral Glow Foundation. I obviously said yes, and I am so happy I did because I absolutely love it!
This foundation is great on all skin types. I have very weird skin at the moment, dry patches with an oily t-zone, but fine in most places, and it looked great on me. It looks very natural even though it is full coverage. I usually have to colour correct because I have some acne scarring, dark spots and redness on my cheeks, but one layer covered everything perfectly. You can see a before and after of my skin below.
Mineral Glow describe this foundation as “a breakthrough formula that works hard to camouflage skin imperfections, that feels hydrating and comfortable” and I couldn’t agree more. The fact that I didn’t have to colour correct is such a big deal to me. Usually I colour correct, set that with powder (to help it not move when I add foundation and to help foundation last longer, if you’re a Jackie Aina fan you know this trick) and then put foundation on. With this foundation, all I did was put some powder over my oily areas and then put it on and it looked perfect. That is a whole layer of makeup that I didn’t have to add. It really felt like my skin could still breathe even while I had a full coverage foundation on and that is really rare for me.
Another thing I really loved about it was that it came with a pump! I’ve had way too many foundations that didn’t come with a pump, so I really love that feature. Also, the actual design on the tube is great. It stands so the foundation naturally flows to the pump. Every other foundation I have is the other way round which means I am wasting a lot of product, so if waste is something that is important to you, that is something to keep in mind.
Glow were also kind enough to send me their Flawless Veil Finishing Powder, Face Expert Brush and a set of false eyelashes. I had actually been into Glow a few days before this package arrived and bought some of their eyelashes so I was really excited to get another set because they’re my favourite kind (they have a thin lash band so they are easy to apply and are super comfortable). I used their powder under my foundation and to set it and I liked that also. I was actually so happy that they sent this brush because I have been searching for a brush like this to apply foundation with for so long and I would really recommend it because it doesn’t leave streaky brush marks on my skin like brushes I’ve tried in the past.
Mineral Glow products are 100% cruelty free and I know that is important to a lot of people so I though I’d mention that.
Although the Ultimate Finish Foundation is not yet available in store or online, it will be very soon. Keep an eye on my Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook as I’ll update there (and this post) when it’s released for sale. Glow Cosmetics offers Australia-wide shipping from their online store ($4.99 flat-rate, or free over $99), and they offer payment through Afterpay, so there’s no excuse not to stock up on everything when you’re buying this foundation.
I hope you enjoyed this post and if you do try this Foundation I hope you love it as much as I do. A huge thank you to Glow Cosmetics for sending me this to review. I appreciate it so much!
Although these products were sent to me for review purposes all thoughts and comments are my own. I will always be 100% honest on my blog.
