One of my goals this year was to try new things. I really want to learn new skills, and push myself to do things even if they give me anxiety because it will probably be good for me in the end. The first new thing I’m trying is sushi. My mum and sister absolutely love sushi and growing up, they had it all the time. I was a pretty picky kid, but as I grew, I realised that my mum was right. Your taste really does change. Many of the things I hated as a kids are my favourite things now. I had only ever tried sushi once and really hated it, but I watched a bunch of YouTube videos on how to make sushi and it just looked so fun!
I made spicy tuna rolls and Jason made sweet potato rolls. I really didn’t expect him to try this with me but I’m so happy he did! Making sushi was a lot of work and preparation! It took us a good hour and a half of preparing everything. I thought rolling them would be hard, but Jason and I both did really well on our first try!
Jason wasn’t a fan of it but I am just super happy that he wanted to do this with me and try something new. I really loved mine and want to try other types! I bought a lot of other seafood and other stuff to use in sushi so over the next few days I’m going to try them out.
My next few blog posts are also going to be new things I’ve tried, although they won’t say it in the blog title (I’ll say it in the actual post though, so you will know) and I’m really excited to share those with you!
