Can you believe I’ve never used a lip scrub in my life!? I see people talk about them all the time, but for some reason, I never bothered to buy one. It just seemed like a waste of money, to be honest. I thought instead of buying one, I’d make one. They’re super simple to make and can be made out of stuff you have at home anyway. Cinnamon is my favourite thing ever, so I thought it would be perfect; especially for this time of year.
All you need is:
- 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon of coconut oil (soft, room temp)
- Small jars/containers with airtight lids
Put them all in a small bowl and mix it together. Once it’s fully mixed spoon it into you little jar. I got mine from a craft store.
This is super simple to make and can be a really lovely DIY gift for someone. Lip scrubs are perfect for someone like me who wears a lot of liquid to matte lipsticks. They can be quite drying so the coconut oil will help moisturise your lips and the sugar will help scrub away dry, dead skin. Since these are all natural, edible ingredients it’s fine if you accidentally get it in your mouth (it actually tastes pretty good!).
Let me know what you think of this if you try it out!
