HIDDEN BUNNY EASTER CAKE

April 13, 2017

I love Pinterest, and while browsing for Easter ideas I saw a hidden bunny cake and I had to recreate it!
This is super easy to make and can be really fun for kids once they see the inside! You can do this for almost any occasion, just switch up the colours and the shapes and it can be anything! I failed the first time I made this because I didn’t use the right kind of chocolate cake for the bunnies and they basically fell apart. The pound cake recipe I used the second time round was perfection!
The recipe I used is from Brown Eyed Baker and you can find it here.

The first thing you need to do to make your hidden bunny cake is make the chocolate pound cake. After I made up the batter, I poured very thin layers into two baking trays and baked them. Once they cooled I cut out my bunny shapes and set them aside for later!
While the chocolate cake was cooking and then cooling I made my vanilla cake batter up! I used this recipe which is one of our favourites, but you could use any vanilla cake recipe you wanted!Line up your chocolate bunnies in your pan and then pour the batter over them and pop it in the oven (for however long the recipe you’re using tells you to) to cook!

Hidden cakes are so fun so I really hope you like this post! I hope you all have a great Easter and don’t eat too much chocolate!
